Janet Lewis-Jones
Did VSO in Papua-New Guinea, was called to the Bar and then worked in the Civil Service. Among other things she has served on the boards of the BBC Trust, the Welsh Fourth Channel Authority, the British Board of Film Classification, the Strategic Rail Authority, Postal Services Commission and British Waterways, as well as the Baring Foundation, Carnegie UK Trust, Refugee and Migrant Justice and Barnardo's.
Jim Miller
Graduated with an MA in Modern Languages from Oxford University before spending a year of living in Japan. He returned to go into the City, and spent six years working as an investment banker at Credit Suisse First Boston, BZW and CLS. In 1999 he founded Somerset Capital, a private equity placement agent and advisory firm. In 2005 he founded the Family Office Roundtable, a networking group for family offices in Europe and internationally. Jim has had considerable experience of suicide in his family life, and is delighted to be involved with the essential support that Maytree provides to people in crisis.
Lisa Aubrey
The newest recruit to the board. Lisa brings with her experience of fundraising from her 10 years at Cancer Research UK where she is currently a Senior Manager in the Volunteer Fundraising team where her main responsibilities are to oversee four regions and provide strategic direction to the Volunteer Fundraising department. Previous to this Lisa was a Regional Manager overseeing the London fundraising team and has also been a Community Fundraiser responsible for generating an income target of +£400k in West London.
Heather Wignall
Heather was a senior manager in the NHS before becoming HR Director at Save the Children UK. She now works in organisational consultancy, mainly in civil society organisations, focusing on leadership development and implementing change. She has a special interest in how organisations and individuals can develop and sustain their well-being and resilience at work. Heather trained in psychosynthesis psychotherapy and has worked as a counsellor in a HIV and sexual health agency, with children and young people, and in private practice
Professor Michael Crawford
I trained in psychiatry at the Royal Free and Maudsley Hospital and in epidemiology at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Following this I completed an MD on the management of suicidal behaviour. I work as an honorary consultant psychiatrist at Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust. As a professor at Imperial College London, my primary academic interest is in mental health services research. I am involved in the development and evaluation of psychosocial interventions for people with complex mental health needs such as those with personality disorder and psychosis. Current projects include clinical trials of creative therapies, psychoeducation and brief intervention for alcohol misuse. I also work for the Royal College of Psychiatrists as the Director of the Centre for Quality Improvement. This involves helping run national audits, quality networks and accreditation programmes aimed at improving the quality of mental health services. I joined Maytree as a Trustee in April 2016.
